Environmental Acoustics Noise Specialist - Vern Goodwin
Vern has 29 years experience in environmental noise measurement and assessment. He is SMS’s Environmental Acoustics specialist supporting our Environmental Noise Analysis and Advice Service contract with the Ministry of Health.
He has worked in that capacity since 1991 under its former titles of Regional Noise Control Office (1972 1996) and National Environmental Noise Service (1996 1999). His qualifications include Royal Society of Health Diplomas in Noise Control, Air Pollution Control and Public Health Inspection.
Vern has extensive experience in the development of New Zealand and joint Australian /New Zealand Standards development having served as Chairperson of four NZ Standards Committees and a committee member of a further six. He has represented the Ministry of Health at those and another three joint Australian/New Zealand joint standards committees.
