Alan is Managing Director of SMS Ltd, a position he has held since establishing the Company in 1995.

He graduated in 1979 and holds Royal Society of Health Diplomas in Public Health and Air Pollution Control. Alan holds accredited certificates in Hazard Analsys Critical Control Points and Food Safety Auditing.

Alan is a member and past president of the New Zealand institute of Environmental Health and member of the Massey University, Wellington Campus Environmental Health Liason Committee. Alan has worked for 20 years in local and central government public health services as an environmental Health Officer and Health Protection Officer in Queenstown Lakes District, Auckland, Wairarapa and Southland Health Districts. His Local Government experience includes 10 years as Environmental Health Officer, Chief Inspector & District Inspector within the Queenstown Lakes District Council. Alan also held the position of Secretary of the former Lakes Waterways Authority for nearly 2 years.

Alans experience over the last five years has involved securing contracts with the crown in Public Health and within Territorial Local Government delivering Regulatory and related TLA services.

Alan´s particular areas of interest and expertise include:
Contract Management, Business Planning & Development, Local Government Service Delivery, Public & Environmental Health and Building Control.


Kevin26Feb02.jpg Service Manager - Kevin Campbell

Kevin is a Director of SMS Ltd and the Company's Service Manager.
His qualifications include BSc, Royal Society of Health Diploma in Public Health Inspection, Post Graduate Diplomas in Business and Administration (Health Management), Food Quality Assurance (distinction), Safety Management (distinction), Certificates in Advanced Noise Measurement; Assessment of Low Acid Canned Foods; Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points; Food Safety Auditing and Internal Auditing.

Kevin has 24 years experience in public and environmental health. He has Central Government and Local Authority experience in Otago and Southland Health Districts.
Kevin has extensive experience in planning, policy development and contract management. He is currently a member on national and regional expert committees, including NZ Drinking Water Standards.

Kevin is the Contract manager for the Biosecurity contracts SMS holds with Ministry of Health and Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. He is also the Training contract manager for the training courses provided for Public Health Officers including Biosecurity Act training under a separate contract with Ministry of Health (MoH).


Mon 2008.jpg Principal - Monica Singe

Monica is a Director and Principal of SMS LTD located in North Auckland where she currently carries out the role of Technical Manager.

Her qualifications include Bachelor of Science (Zoology) and the Graduate Diploma's in Environmental Health Science and Drinking Water Assessment. She also holds Certificates in Clinical Biochemistry (QTA), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points and Food Safety Auditing.  

Monica is the Technical Manager responsible for technical delivery and development of technical services and aspects of SMS and NZB.  This has included National Saltmarsh Mosquito surveillance development, training and quality, including the development and preparation of surveillance systems guidelines, reports, standard operating procedures, environmental data, analysis programmes, discussion papers and media and landowner updates. She was responsible for the development of the risk based programme schedules, including statistical measures, and environmental monitoring requirements.
 
She is involved in the development of treatment methodology for midge control in waste water treatment oxidation ponds in several locations, and oversees the Company's effluent pond treatment programmes and reporting requirements in this respect, including reviewing midge control programmes and aspects of control product selection. Monica monitors surveillance results, providing an auditing and reporting function for the Royal New Zealand Navy port mosquito surveillance programme.
 
Having worked in Local and Central Government and the private sector, Monica was involved in public and environmental health services for more than 20 years. Monica represented the MoH on the working party tasked to review the draft National Biosecurity Strategy in 2003, and was a member of the SSM Intelligence Projects with MAF BNZ.
